What is everyone's feelings on the proper PSI to keep your Ram tires at?

I just got my 21 Ram a couple weeks ago, 275/55R 20

I haven't touched the tires/air but this is what I'm showing right now

45/42
41/40

What a mix

(It's currently 80's and humid here)

RAM 1500, 285/70/17 which is slightly under 33". I keep them at 39 psi. 75 degrees outside.

Check what the tag on the driver's door states for PSI.
Buy yourself a good digital tire gauge to check the pressure, what the EVIC states isn't the most accurate.

I have kept the tires at 38 lbs cold for 10000 miles. The rear tires have shown very slight center wear. The fronts are even all the way across. I have now adjusted my pressure to 38 front and 36 rear. I believe the extra center wear is due to a little to much pressure and the fact that these trucks are somewhat lighter in the rear than the front.

I go by the door sticker. I have a very nice digital gauge that I use. You want to check them "cold"...after vehicle has been sitting for at least 3 hours. I usually do it first thing in the morning saturday or sunday. I check 2x per month in constant temperature months and 1x per week in those month where the weather changes a lot.

36PSI cold is the factory recommended setting.
Depends on which tire he has. Size isn't the only determining factor. The sticker in the driver side door jam lists the recommended tire pressures. That is always what I set mine to whenever I'm running factory tires. For aftermarket tires the chalk test that WY-Dave posted is a good way to determine optimal pressures to run.

I do 36 psi also because that’s what the owner manual says to do.
Actually, the owner's manual does not say what pressure to use. The manual covers all 2021 Ram 1500 models, and there are too many different tire sizes and types to list them all in the manual. It instead refers to the placard in the driver door jam that some of us have been talking about. Here's a capture from the owner's manual...

Mines a 2014, so may be different.
Door jamb says 40psi, I keep mine about 40 in front and 35 in rear, since my bed is usually empty. If I'm hauling I will raise the rear to 40.

The door sticker in our new RAM says 36 psi for the 275/55R20 tires. I figure that is correct for everyday use.

If you have the OEM tires, follow the door sticker, plus or minus. For a slightly comfier ride, subtract 1-2 PSI. For slightly better mileage, add 1-2 PSI.

If you have non-OEM tires, start with the door sticker. There's a "chalk test" you can do - look it up. And after the miles start to pile up you can evaluate via wear.

Regardless of the number you arrive at, I always tend to go for 1-2 over in the fall (as temps drop) and 1-2 under in spring (as temps are rising).

One thing to be aware of especially if you are going to be concerned about 2-3 psi is to check your tires before the sun gets to them.
I have seen 3-4 psi difference from side to side when the sun is hitting just one side of the truck.
When I initally air up my tires and verify the reading on the tpms system to my guage I do it when the truck has been parked out of the sun for several hours.

I have not looked at my door sticker in a long time

You report that it reads 36 PSI, it should read 36 PSI in the early morning

Never go by the door sticker, always go by what the tire says!

With that being said, current vehicles are 50 PSI (car) and 70 PSI w/o trailer and 80 PSI w/ trailer respectively for the RAM (unless I'm stuck in the sand), all with Nitto tires.

Always measure cold if you can.

What is labeled on the tire is the MAXIMUM allowed air pressure for when the tire is carrying is MAXIMUM recommended load.
