I have been lurking, looking on this forum for ideas and im just a little confused.

I plan on hooking up a JL HD750 to a 10w6, using the stock head unit but im not sure what all is needed.

I read that a line output converter is needed but then I read that someones bass wasnt scaling with the volume knob.

What is the proper way to set up a sub system to the stock unit?

I recently installed a line out converter tapping into my rear speakers behind the head unit and used the cig light for remote turn on. The bass works as it should on some songs and then doesn't hit on others. I have the gain on the converter is around 60% and have messed and messed with every possible option. I eventually broke down and ordered my favorite head unit. But seem to be having the problem you mentioned.

There is a plug and play harness that even gives you a remote turn on I'm looking for part number now.

the harness is a PAC AOEM CHR3, it gives you 2 sets of rcas F and R
its a simply plug and play, i just installed one myself, but just like the LOC
im not very happy with the outcome with bass and such, i am looking for a decent 7inch DD probaly from kenwood or alpine.

heres the link for the PC

PAC AOEM-CHR3 (aoemchr3) System Interface Kit to Add or Replace

So it sounds like you need to get an aftermarket head unit for the bass to work correctly. Damn, thats another few bills.

I got a kenwood double din off amazon for like 230 shipped. It's a 6.1" as I do not like the motorized screens that have to come down to load a disc. I know it's nothing special but I had it in my f250 and loved it for what it is. Just tossing some options.

My buddy has the stock stereo with the bluetooth button but no screen or nav and his bass seemed to act the same as my plain jane one with a LOC in place. He went with the power acoustik inteq deal and is happy with it as well.

Just some options!

I'm thinkin on gettin a amp under my seat to power a pioneer 10in sub that sits 5 7/8 inch hi..basically flat but wide and power the sub only with amp and use a remote on the amp to turn bass up or down, kinda like a volume...just gotta go home and see if ill have fitment issues...
This is a temp idea cause the more I read here the chances are ill change my mind...called my local dodge dealer about a kit..Basically all kicker equ, door/dash speakers, sub and amp...think someone mentioned it was an upgrade over the factory basic blue tooth cd am/fm head unit..Rather not buy another head unit if I don't have to..Unless I hear another upgraded stereo the factory is fine by me, just needs some thump...Most time I listen to sirius 80' hair band stuff..
