Anything on the dash will hurt forward visibility - wish I had known bigger isn't always better from a screen standpoint which has me thinking about the 5" Furrion rear view screen. Down to the two cup holders maybe.

I keep my Furrion backup monitor and the GPS on the top of the dash right above the center console. When driving I can glance at the GPS at eye level. The backup monitor is eye level and makes a big difference when backing. I can watch the mirrors and monitor pretty easy.

Rear camera monitor goes in the center dash recess in a wooden mount I made. Not in the view path and doesn't move around.
TPMS monitor goes in one of the console cup holders.
No cost for either mount.

On my 2017 I used a Bayou Goat Mount Triple & Clutchit magnetic mounts for the camera monitor and TTMS monitor. I now have the same setup on my 2020 2500 now too and have no issues seeing. I like the bigger monitor; the smaller ones are just too hard to see any detail in.

The newer trucks are wired to add the back up camera for just your issue and see it on the dash screen.

Look into it and if you can add it to your truck.

Has anyone used the double bayougoatmount on a 2019-2020 (double and single are the only options on their website)? I'm trying to figure out what the distance is between the two screw holes for mounting. There are two screws that hold the current catch all in place - 5" apart.

We just plug the iPhone into the truck for GPS, works great with the 8.4 screen. iPhone can multi task so nothing is lost. I do need to figure out how to better mount the Furrion cam monitor though, some good ideas on here. They call it a back up
cam but I use it constantly to see what’s behind me and if the bikes are still back there :)

I also use my iphone for navigation. The rear camera is always on, but I don't use it all that much. I'm an old school mirror guy.

Same here. I only use mirrors when backing in at a campground but the rear 5W camera is great for knowing what’s behind you, lane changes, etc.

I’ll be following this thread. I’m waiting for my 22 Longhorn 3500 Dually to get built & our new 22 Riverstone 391FSK 5’er. Then I’ll need a place for Furrion monitor & TST tireminder. I had a goat mount on my last 3500 & 2500 and they work great. Just waiting to sit in the seat of the new 3500 before ordering anything.

Looking at potentially doing a little RVing in the future. It'll be just a small couples trailer (looking at the Wolf Pup 16FQ and really liking the layout). Is there a way to put a camera on the trailer and use the in dash 8.4 screen on a 2019? I think the newer electronics has this option but not sure on the first DT models. The trailer we are looking at has an optional camera from the manufacturer, but not sure what is needed to view it in the truck yet. If it requires a separate screen on the dash, so be it, but would be nice to keep it clean!
