Pump timing on eco diesels

Wondering if anyone knows anything about the timing on the injector pump for eco diesels

Isn’t the eco diesel run off fuel injectors and a high pressure pump? Not a mechanical injector pump.

Its an electronic injection but there will be a timing procedure, it is controlled by the ECU.

I heard the pump needs to be timed to the cam

I don’t think that’s how that works for the eco diesel given the injection timing is electronic with the injectors. To change injection timing would require tuning. The old Cummins with a mechanical injection pump you could degree the injection timing and they sold stroker pumps to increase actual injection volume which is completely different than a common rail setup.

Ok, just to be clear, the injector pump DOES need timed. As soon as I find a proper explanation, I will post it.
