I retro fitted mine, but QA1 now has shocks that are a direct replacement. I can't remember the model #s, but give them a call.

Oh, and great shocks, I swear by them!

Yeah, he was clueless. A couple guys on here (can't remember their names) have ordered and installed them on their Rams.

I retrofitted mine. My only complaint was the top shock mount for the fronts isn't big enough.

I actually spoke with QA1 yesterday, and as soon as I can get some measurements on my shock lengths they're going to spec out a set for my 2" 4" drop with correct mounts.

Well let us know when they do this so I can order the proper fit deal.... I need shocks, the Belltech's just aren't firm enough.

Will do. It'll probably be a week. I won't have time to measure them until this weekend.

EDIT: I will say this, my stock suspension 2007 Z06 with 100k miles has a more comfortable ride than my truck right now, even over really bumpy roads. It has less suspension travel too. Personally I think I just don't have my shocks set high enough, but I also think the double adjustables would have been nice to set compression and rebound differently.

I'm in no hurry, Until Fire season is over I don't have much wrenching time. All my time has been taken up by either fires or wrenching on the fire trucks, and I have a new truck coming in thursday I have to outfit make shelving and such to send out the old one for repair to the tank to sell. I'm the maintenance guy at the station on the rigs.

I would love the double adjustables. You could probably set them to give you a cushy ride. There are some other options I'm looking at that won't break the bank.

This is what I will be ordering.. one of these days I need to collect all my notes and plans and make one big plan and parts list. I have a stack of post-it notes on my deck 2" thick of parts and thoughts and options for my "build plan"

The problem with double adjustables is that rarely do people have the time and knowledge to set them up correctly. There are a lot of factors at play and you can't simply turn a dial and get results.

I know what you mean, but its just compression and rebound. Which is simple for me to understand coming from the motocross world. Like with anything adjust it a little and drive and see how you like it. Doesn't seem too hard.

EDIT: Haha just noticed that our avatars are very similar looking.

Yea, but there's also the balancing act of matching the shocks to the springs. That's where it's really fun...

And yea, that's a little weird hahaha. I almost thought your post was mine.

Welcome to our world..... trying to keep you two straight... we should refer to ya'll as Mario and Luigi..

As for dialing it in its probably similar to dialing in a multi rate coil over triple bypass? if not then I will have fun with the trial and error method

There's an equation out there somewhere that I saw in a suspension dynamics book...

Basically you have to know your sprung weight, unsprung weight, and your suspension travel. You use that to calculate your spring rate, then you use everything to calculate your damping force. It's a bit long...

I have no idea if the information in these links is correct, but I think it is and it may be helpful.

Street Performance & Racing Spring Rate Tech | Understanding Spring Rates | QA1 Suspension
Automotive Spring Rate Calculator
Spring Rate Calculator « Ridetech News and Information

My suspicion is that the lowered springs from Belltech aren't stiff enough for the lowered ride height. I would need the spring rate from them to be able to calculate that though.

Good info, its a start.... I'm impressed with how the ride is with the 2/4 belltech but it definitely is no performance spring. Hopefully one day someone will come out with a performance rated spring or coil over for these trucks. But I don't think there is enough market for that to support the R&D to produce them.
