Definitly get the Crew Cab. I have a 3 year old. and he is tall for his age. I'm 6'0, everyone has plenty of room in the back and front seats.

The rear facing car seats take a ton of room(think 6'4" 350lb man). Leave the kid at home, and take the seat. See how it fits in there, and if you'll be happy putting the carrier in/out. The in a couple years putting the kid in/out.
Also, little kids kick the back of seats. If that makes you crazy, more room will help keep your sanity. Mine that kicked the seat in the old truck, can't reach in the Megacab. He'll be old enough to not kick about the time he can reach it.

I think I'm even more confused now. If it was just the difference of MSRP I'd do it in a heart beat but it's MSRP plus $2500. As someone who trades my cars in every 9-24 months that's a lot to swallow. Maybe I should wait until summer and see what the rebates do. I got excited and found a certified used 14 black edition with less then 1000 miles at the dealers website then looked at the car fax and it was in a wreck.

I was gonna say get the crew cause it will be worth it in the long run but if you trade it in that often you might not wanna take the hit on the price difference so if you can make the quad work that might be better for you.

Dude- you absolutely need the Crew. Quad cabs are cruel and unusual treatment for anyone IMO.

I came from a 08 tundra crewmax which is the biggest cab they have. I test drove a quad cab and there is no way it would work my boys are 5 and 8. I ended up going with the crew cab and it has plenty of room for the boys. Actually it still seems a little smaller in the back compared to the crewmax but is not a issue. As for the price I got mine for basically right at 29k express 4x4 no tow mirrors but has a hitch and they threw in the step bars. I think you may need to shop around a little. You should be able to find it around that price if the dealer wants to make a deal. Good luck

before kids I drove Chevy Ext Cabs, once we had our 1st i did the rear facing in the middle because there was no way it was going behind me or behind my wife because she would have to be pushed almost all the way up
the ram quad cab is about the same size in the back so i dont see how that would work
I have had 2 Crew cabs with the 2nd kiddo and would never do a quad. you have so much more space in the back I can have a rear facing seat behind me and it doesnt touch
im 6'4" btw

Where are you getting your incentives numbers? You might want to double check. The express is oddly missing from the crew 6'4" ramtrucks.com site incentives page. Is that what you are seeing? If so, check with the dealer. It might just be a website data bug.

My feeling is that the crew is worth fighting for. We went with it because we do plan road trips with adult friends and we like our friends. :slap:

Good luck.

I don't like my friends, they're lucky if I let them ride in the bed. :laughing1:

I can say I don't have any problem with my quad cab and 3 kids. It's not the primary family vehicle though. So for long trips we'd hop in the wife's Commander. But it gets us around if I feel like taking my truck somewhere with the family.

Congrats on the new addition!

I have a QC truck but I am also 6'7" so my seat is all the way back so very little room for my girls two daughters that sit back there.

I'm already thinking in a couple years of upgrading to the CC with a 6'4" bed. Do it now while it's cheaper before having to go from QC to CC.

I think I want the black edition I think it looks pretty sharp. I'll probably just wait a while so I can get the truck I want. Does crew have Better resale value

Heres my take on your thought! If your willing to conceed tot he Crew being out of reach then your not working the dealer very well. Be fore you sit back go let them know what you want and to work hard to sell you a truck. You will be surprized. I have a saying I tell all of my no good at negotiating friends. " If you dont say it, then your going to pay it"
Figure out what you can really afford, then tell your salesman make it happen and dont back down. You dont have to get mad or upset you have the upperhand do to the fact your already willing to wait. If you have to walk away then whats thebig deal you werent even going to go. Dealers want to sell. If they dont have the right truck for your budget they will locate one at a lot they do trades with. Plus keep an eye on stupid options that you can do with out at the time of getting a good deal and pick them up new for pennies on the dollar from ebay. You dont need a home run in options anymore go for a Double and aftermarket and ebay bring you home.
You may want certain things thats fine but dont let nick nacks budget you out of a truck. Almost every option is post purchaseable and you dont have to pay for them for 5 or 6 years.

Now go talk your salesman let him know your certain it has to be a CC if nothing can be done here you'll continue your search elswhere while you wait. Trust me you will get a deal. If they hold firm then they are greedy pig dealers anyhow.
JM2Cents!

Have you looked at the mega cab. Those are sweet. I wished I would have got one instead of my CC.

I am the minority here. I chose the quad cab over the crew cab for 3 major reasons.

1-I like the style of the quad cab over the crew. (I like the regular the most)
2-I wanted the full short bed (overall length was important),
3-We have a minivan for daily driving with our 3 kids.

They fit just fine in my quad for when we use the truck to take them places. A rear facing seat goes in the middle of the back seat with no problem. Overall I prefer the quad. A comparable crew was only $1500 more at my dealer, so pricing wasn't a big deal.
