So this spring I'm thinking about redoing my exhaust on my truck. I'm looking into to putting long tube headers in with cats since I have to get emissions. I'm going to run into a magnaflow x pipe then duals out the back with either 2 magnaflow round bodies or 2 cherry bomb extremes. So my question is does anyone have pictures of how their lt headers are set up on a quad cab 4x4? And does anyone have sound clips?

I dunno 'bout Pa, but here in the communist state, we cannot alter the location of the cats, from the factory position. (if tthey check). But once they do it's bye bye registration till it is returned too original. position.
Why do I live here??

The guy that does my inspections is gonna be the one helping mock everything up. He said that it won't be illegal or anything like that.

technically, adding long tubes to a street vehicle is automatically illegal in ANY state as you are moving the cats about 18" back from stock location. If your state does not do inspections and just plugs their checker into the OBDII port then you are good to go, if they do a full inspection and/or look for CARB rated parts you'll be SOL unless you can find someone that will turn the other way during the inspection.

^^^ Is yours a 4x4? The piping has to be routed differently on a 4x4.

My guy that does my inspection will just look away he just hooks it up that's it. I'm already running straight pipe but still have cats on. But if I was to get shorties or mids rather than long tube which would be better. I was gonna ask the same question.

Bump. Which would better if I didn't get long tubes shorties or mid tubes. Hopefully ordering everything after Christmas.

Mids I would think would give you the closest low end torque that long tubes would give you. I know you can get a set from edelbrock for around $200?? It's they're mid length headers ceramic coated.

Droid Incredible 2 on the move!!!

Mids might still require reworking the stock y pipe. Shorties would be the simplest install far as bolting up, if you havent changed out the choke point in the y pipe ya should do that also.

I have a magnaflow x pipe in place of the y pipe. I'm looking for the best set up for it to exhale. And my exhaust manifold gaskets are leaking so I just wanna do everything at once.

If you can go LTs then go for it. I might go with LTs way down the road but I'm probably going to pick up a set of BBK shorties soon. A lot of people like them except for some of the issues they've had with the welds, and that's an easy fix.

If you're thinking about shorties check out the BBKs, the price can't be beat.
