I have a 2015 ram 1500 V6 with 3.21's and just put a leveling kit with 35" Cooper AT3's.

My problem is it never wants to shift to 7 and 8. I know that the truck thinks I still have the factory tire size so that causes some of the issue and that the tires are heavier.

I need to know what if any is the best way to solve or lighten the change.

So here are the questions I have;

Would buying a Diablo Tuner and PCM to change the tire size help any or will that just fix the speedometer issues?

Are there any other parts or things that I can do ?

Also I have searched through threads and found a lot of material but no that applies directly to my circumstance so that is why I am posting. If there is a thread that already exists I apologize in advance. I am grateful for any input you guys have.

There's a bunch on this. It wont get any better as long as you have 3:21 gears.

So changing shift points or having the tire size changed with a tuner will do nothing ?

Proper gearing is the best way to regain lost power and performance after installing larger tires.

It may do some, but probably not enough to justify the cost. The v6 paired with 3.21s and 35s just make it have to work harder to maintain speed which is why you aren't seeing 7 or 8th. Just like going up a small hill all the time with the extra size and weight of the tires. Just accept it would be my advice. Very expensive to regear these trucks. It's okay if the motor revs, mileage will just suffer a bit.

There's probably some hemi badges for sale in the classifieds section. Can try throwing those on there. [emoji6]

:jawdrop: That is a seriously bad combination of power/gearing/tire height&weight. A V6 with 35s is going to need some low (high numeric) gears to feel anything but anemic. Even if you had factory 3.92 gears, the V6 with 35s would likely feel sluggish. 4.56 gears should do the trick (4.10s minimum)...it's what Taco owners with V6 engines and big tires do all the time.

Why would you buy the v6 if you were going to put 35's on??

The 3.21 hemi's don't like to stay in 8th with 35's, so a tuner won't solve your problem. Like mentioned above you'll need to change the gears. 3.92 or bigger, in your case the bigger the better.

Honestly, maybe your best bet would be to buy a new truck with the hemi. The money you'll drop with gears and a tuner will work out the same, but the hemi will be a lot more fun to drive. Just my opinion
