Hey first post, need guidance. In my 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 I recently upgraded my RA1 non Bluetooth to RA2 5 inch touch screen if that’s correct and everything is working fine, the only thing I need to do now is install a headliner microphone, so the questions I have is A. Is one on the drivers side okay or should I go out of my way to install driver and passenger? I checked behind the AC vent on drivers side and the harness is there with the wiring running up the A pillar. B. Will the microphone connector be under the headliner then if that’s the case? And C. I’m conflicted on which microphone I need to purchase, there is part #6EP09BD1AA which seems to be a 2018 mic or part #6EP09DX9AA which says 2017, as per Rockauto information, conflicting another post on here showing the first part number microphone being in a 2017 Ram headliner. Thanks for any advice given.

I vote for both, I have two with zero problems, possible it uses them both to block out extraneous sounds. I suggest you reach out to Benny at All Mopar Parts and M2Mods, both in Vendor section. They may be able to help with part numbers on microphone and wiring, respective6. Good luck.

Look in this thread... DIY: 2017-19/20 classic Overhead Mic and Compass harness install
https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/to...p?posts/2346228/&share_type=t&link_source=app

It also details what pins/wires are used for the mics so you can check to see if the harness that continues up the A-pillar actually has the wires, of if they need to be added.

I installed 2 overhead mics (and a compass module) when I installed an RA2 radio in my Tradesman and they work great.
