question... what is the plug the tech forgot in my truck

I had my truck in for service and after i left and went to work I later returned to drive home and found the tech left this plug in under the dashboard. it had a label on it that said don't drive with it plugged in... I took it out. what is it any answers...

Without a pic, I'm going to guess it's the Wi-Tech/Star-Mobile plug for the StarScan wireless system they use to update the computers in the newer vehicles.

What kind of truck do you have. If it is a cummins powered truck, some of the programmers come with this cap to put on the service port after you have flashed it, to keep dealers from reinstalling an emissions flash file when the truck has no emissions equipment.

Sounds like he left a micro pod in there. They would probably really like to have it back.

That's a micro pod/wipod. About a $600 piece of equipment, and USELESS unless you have chryslers diagnostic program, their server connections, and a login to chryslers online diagnostic server.

Take that back lol.. I used to work for a Chrysler dealer, and service writers(what I used to do there) also use those to check cars in for service appointments.
