Finally got the fuel timing set on my 2000 dodge 1500 5.9 was only 18 degrees out. lol truck runs better now but still does some popping and shuttering under acceleration. My ideas on this is fouled spark plugs or bad wires because I never did chance them. what are your guys thoughts? hoping to fix asap truck will hopefully be being sold Saturday. TIA

Is the popping you're talking about loud? It could be the pinging sound you hear when your plenum has gone out. Easy way to check if it's the spark plugs though just pull them out and see if they're in rough shape. Other than that I'd check the plenum, I'm sure others will have a better idea than me what it could be

Thanks for the help I'll check plugs and probably just go ahead and do the plenum gasket.

I replaced the plenum gasket along with the intake gaskets and my problem seems to have gotten worse. Forgot to check the plugs but doesn't anyone else have any ideas what might be causing this? About to just give up cut my losses and sell the thing.
