Hello. I have a few questions about the ported dual 12" sub box from fox acoustics for anyone that owns one...

-Has anyone used the 10" adapter rings to put 10's in the box? If so, once you use the rings can the box still be used for 12's down the road? I'd like to get rid of my generic sealed dual 10" box but I'd like to repurpose my Kicker 10's for a while before stepping up to 12's.

-Is it necessary to trim the carpet under the seats for this box to fit?

-Is there any room left under the seat for amps or will I have to mount everything on the back wall?

Thanks for the help!

can't answer the question about the tens, as I have 12 is installed in them. You will have no additional room for mounting amps underneath the seat that has to go all on the back wall32f9c06add9ab0ab9e7a1daa39361958.jpg36f83a8c4b7483fda1c9325f16d310dc.jpg

Regarding 10's retro fitted...what I would do is make an adapter ring for the tens but screw the new ring onto the cut-outs for 12's...Id probably use a rubber gasket between the mounting surface of 12's, and your ring for 10's so it won't leak. Using screws with zero glue will ensure you can unscrew your 10" ring once you decide to use 12's. Hope that makes sense. You may need to use subwoofer grills on your tens due to increased height...I'd probably make the 10" mounting ring out of 3/4" MDF so technically your tens will be sticking up 3/4" higher than normal...hence the grills. No room for amps under the seat with box in place and you do not need to trim any carpet.

Thanks for your input! What subs are you running? Are you happy with them in that box?

Thanks for the info! I didn't think about the raised height for the adapters, good point! I may just bite the bullet and get some 12's

Also you might add, if you go with 10's in that enclosure, you're going to have to find some subs that will use the amount of airspace that's in that enclosure. If it's too much for your subs, they'll peter out pretty fast and they go bye bye. So also take that into account. Personally, go with some good 12's and you'll be set. Always good to have too much and turn it down than not have enough and have to spend more money to do it over again. Do it right the first time.

I have a single 12" ported fox box that I got for my 10" P3. Adapter worked well although after a week I pulled the adapter and went to a 12. And if anyone is wondering, the Rockford Fosgate T1D2-12 will fit nicely in that box!. Don't listen to what anyone else says when they say it wont. The airspace is perfect and I'm proof that it fits right in there. Warning though...you will need sound dampener to stop all the vibration!!! That sub rocks!

12-10 adapter will still allow you to run a 12 in the future. There will be zero room for amps, mount them to the back wall.
