I got a VP4 NA from infotainment from a 2017 ram 2500, which I put in my Canadian 2017 Ram 1500. Everything works but when I try to register with SiriusXM Canada they said the radio is not compatible with Traffic + Travel link. But my last radio in the 1500 2017 was VP4 CA and I was able to get Traffic and Travel link but the issue was both services did not show up (icons missing and under subscriptions it was only subscribed to XM select but online I had all 3).

I called XM Canada and they said when they looked it up they cannot add traffic and travel link as its incompatible...

Anyone know what's going on?

I wish I did, but did the (new) radio come from a Canadian truck, or a US one? (I see "NA" versus "CA" in the designations, which is why I ask.)

That might be the reason why - Sirius XM may have contractual limitations that mean US receiver sets aren't fully licensed for the Canadian traffic/nav service**, or perhaps they use different satellites for traffic/nav updates (and therefore different frequencies received by the antenna), etc...

** I do know that GPS is (or at least sued to be) set a bit differently for US and non-US receivers (and it used to be that civilian/military sets differed as well, where civilian GPS sets could only resolve to 3m at best, while US/CA/UK military GPS receivers resolved to > 1m. Maybe this is a legacy of that?)

Haha does that mean I'm screwed for future updates (firmware) as well?
