I'm just a little confused on the wiring concept of it. I'm going to splice the wires but do I just wrap the bare wire around the + of the battery and the same thing with whatever I choose to be the ground?

Yep, hook the red to positive and the black to ground. You can get these to make it look cleaner.

Just fyi the raceland will come with a cig lighter plug, you'll have to cut that off, and the wires are prob too thin for that type of connector.

I really wanna stress that the wires coming off the cutout are small, must be 14 or 16 ga, you will have a hard time tying that to one of those connectors. I doubled the wire up just to get it to fit in the quickconnector better.

I folded the wire back on itself and stuffed that into the quick connect, I have wires running to my driving lights and stuff, but your best bet is to tap it in to the cig lighter behind the radio bezel, that way its only got power when your key is in.

Then I'm gonna have to break through the firewall though. I usually use the cig lighter for my ipod in order to charge it anyway..it would get annoying to keep switching them out

Going through the firewall is cake Ill take some pics tomorrow for you, and I mean you should hardwire the cutout into the wires going into the cig lighter.

no just quick-connects its easy bro, cake!

The hardest thing to do is to run the wire down the underside of the truck to get to the engine bay, and even that is easy!

Ok, throw me some photos whenever you get to it, no rush. I will still be able to use the cig lighter from inside the cab right?
