The black plastic pieces that go over the outside of the windows those are rain guards?

Where are those found and how do they actually attach?

There are two kinds.
One kind goes in channel like the weathertechs.

The original kind uses double sided tape to stick to the door frame around the window.

I’m sure you can find some that aren’t as expensive as the weathertech ones. They seem to be the more pricey option. There are some other good brands that are a little more wallet friendly.

I have the weathertec ones and got them here:

https://www.americantrucks.com/ram-wind-deflectors-rain-guards-2009.html

This site gives you a bunch of options. I got only the front ones and they wedge in between the glass and door frame and are firmly held in place by resting on the front lower window frame. I had these on another car and in both vehicles they worked great and never moved. I had the rear ones on my previous car and one time opened the back window and one flew away. The rear ones are just not held in place as well as the front ones. They have double sided tape which is supposed to hold them inplace under the door frame but it just never worked well.

I bought the AVS In-channel from autozone for $60. Took 5 minutes to install, solid and look/fit well.

Figured it out weathertech in channel. Pretty expensive here in Canada at $160 though.

Check with Canadian Tire, they used to carry WeatherTech products and that's where i bought mine from, but that's also close to 6 years ago now. They've never given me any issues and i've had them on my last 2 trucks

Weather Tech In Channel is way to go.
I use to use AVS glue on for all my past trucks, BUT went with W T In Channel for the ram, and LOVE them

I've had good luck with the in channel AVS on my 06, 08 and 18. Have weather tech on my 10 Town and County and like the AVS on my truck better they seem to have a better fit.

I wanted to replace my stick ons with in channels after I had an accident . The shop removed mine to paint the doors, but they never removed all of the tape and just sprayed over it.I had to go with stick ons again to cover their craftmanship. What a bunch of ****** hacks.I would'nt let these guys paint my garbage cans!THATS MILLERS COLLISION LACKAWANNA NY!

I went with the stick on's, the in track are made with a thinner material. I have enough trouble with the window auto up function as it is, don't need something in the track to give it another reason to act up. Granted in channel is definitely cleaner.

Agree, in-channels look cleaner IMO whichever brand you choose. I have
weather techs, but damn dog keeps popping them off putting his head out the window...

I wouldn’t have accepted that work. I would have made them redo it. I have made a shop redo their work and do it right.

If you have a crew cab I wouldn’t go with weather tech. They use a small clip on the rear doors that is a pain to put in and it makes the rear ones bow out in the center.

It will be a crew once finally built.
