i just did all my cars with my mid winter application, and a new neighbor asked what i was doing. So i guess some people havent found out about rainex.

I ve been using it ( the rub on/rub off application, not the washer fluid) since the early 80s when i drove british cars and their wipers were only for show

It a quick application and will repel water , dirt etc. it even helps w snow removal from the windows in the winter and bug removal in the summer

just be sure to buff it thoroughly so there arent any streaks or swirls . I heard of some who complain about it at night, but if its rubbed in and rubbed off well it doesnt affect night vision after its on for a day or two.

hardly need wipers on when its fresh

i try to reapply every 4 months or so

I used it for years in the Pacific Northwest until I found Aquapel. Clean the windshield with alcohol or clay bar it then apply the Aquapel and buff it off before it dries up and down and then back and forth. It's a PPG product. 10 times better than Rain-x.

RainX user here too, for many years. Great product. So much safer driving experience in the rain.

Yes, rainex is great, just not the washer fluid, it destroyed my old trucks roof clear coat.

Don’t use it for those that have automatic wipers.

It’s on the owners manual to not use rain repellent as it can interfere somehow with the rain sensor.

I still use it on my 2015 (since new) with the auto-wiper feature. It hasn't been a problem. The real beauty is that you can often leave your wipers completely off and not use them at all. Guess I'm lucky I never saw that in the manual. :)

I turned off my auto wipers during the first rain I was ever in with the truck. Hate that feature. Like billyw says, you don't have to use wipers much with RainX anyway.

Try this test. Rain-x on half and wax the other half. I could not tell a difference in repellent ability or how long it was effective. Your result may vary.

Tried wax a LONG time ago, before RainX was a thing. Worked okay until you needed to use the wipers, then it streaked and made it harder to see. Will never make that mistake again.

Most useless feature ever invented. I had auto wipers on my jeep renegade. They come on way too often, within the first week, i had disabled them in the settings.

I'll definitely disagree. Not only is aquapel more expensive. It required more applications. It's effectiveness was basically nil in about 2.5 months. Rain x i can get easily 4 to 5 months before reapplying. I also find rain x sheds water better. In heavy rain, i still needed to use my wipers where i would still be leaving them off when using rain x.

Like everyone else has said. Easy product to use and not have to use wipers as much.
