I am looking for a spark plug socket verified to work with the 2008+ 4.7 engines. Apparently the one I have for my hemi is not thin enough.. tried 3 stores no luck if anyone knows for sure one that fits lmk.

I used a grinder to thin it out. Ran into same problem went to change plug and socket would go down the port thought I was doing something wrong. If you have a bench grinder it works best and it's pretty fast

I will do this if I have to I can get a crap harbor freight socket pre cheap I was just trying to find the right one.

I second the grinder trick,i have a fair number of plug sockets,and none i had would fit,ended up grinding one of the cheaper no name sockets down to fit.

I bought one from home depot, spark plug socket for a lawn mower. Thing metal is weak but it has 3 or 4 size options by switching it around. It works perfect though so i bought 2 since the first one bent.

Better yet SK has the spark plug socket for your engine
On the SK website, the number seems to be #4421, but in the video below, he says #4422

Think I used a mac socket years ago with my old 4.7l

Oh also u can grind the walls of a socket down. Think that's what I did initially before I got the thin walled socket from a mac truck at the deli that same day lol

Thanks just ordered one lucky for me the engine is out of the truck next time it wont be tho lol idk why they felt the need to change spark plug hole sizes... other then to be a pain in the ass.
