Just completed the spindle drop on my ‘23 4X4 using the 2wd drop spindles
As suggested by suppliers and other forum members everything fit and went back together fairly smoothly- minor trimming on the bottom of the dust shields to clearance the rotors/callipers and slightly tight brake hoses at full lock
Only real issue is the ride height- I’m sitting at 1.25max instead of 2”- truck is about 3.00-3.5” inches in the back- so it’s almost dead level- was hoping for a tiny bit of rake

Question is to members who have done this drop- did it settle a bit after it was driven?

Truck has 17000KM-10500 miles on it- I’m guessing the factory strut springs have already settled out?
Truck alignment looks real close (maybe 0 camber), so I have a bit of breathing room to make some changes before committing to having it aligned

Odds are it won't drop to much more if you already have 17000 clics on it.
They're rated at 2" on a 2wd,on the 4X4's it's closer to about 1.25 /1.5".
The 2wd spindles are actually a differant height then the 4X4 spindles,so you get more drop on the 2wd's then you do on the 4X4's.

Thanks for the info Rick, I figured you’d know something about it
I was toying with the idea of pulling it back into the garage and putting the Belltech 4wd drop coils (which I have) onto the 5100’s set at .75 to get a drop around 2.5”…..
I doubt I’ll touch it- it handles and rides really well- very pleased with that part of the drop- a little firmer than stock with the 5100’s

If you compare where the wheel hub hole and lower balljoint mounting point are on the 2wd and 4X4 spindles there's a differance between the 2 points. The 2wd spindles are also taller/longer

You’re right its definitely noticeable
Also the tie-rod mount on the drop spindles is quite a bit lower- almost a bind at full droop- couldn’t get the rack to move unless I jacked the control arm up 1”or 2

The stock track width of this truck before the drop stuck out a little more than my last 4wd- after the drop spindles the track width didn’t change much- definitely happy and surprised by that

Which brand drop spindle did you use? I'm interested in doing a drop install on my 2014 Ram 4x4. I currently have a Belltech strut lowering kit, but it rides really rough.

I used the McGaughy's copies from Suspension Superstore
Couldn’t see any real difference from comparing how they looked

Supposedly you can use the 2wd spindles on a 4X4 and get roughly a 1" drop,it's just another option to consider if you only want a mild drop.
It would be nice if somebody actually came out with a dedicated 4X4 drop splindle in cast aluminium, but that doesn't appear to be happening anytime soon.
As far as i know only McGauphy's offers a dropped spindle, and every other outfit selling a dropped spindle is a repackaged McGauphy spindle

Quick update
Just had the truck aligned by the dealership yesterday

As per Wild one- it needed almost no adjustment, tiny correction on the toe in

Had driven it for about 400km-250miles before the alignment just to make sure it didn’t need anything further from me- pretty happy with it so far- ride should even better when we get some better above 0 temperatures with the truck and road seams thawing out
Little side note-
Rear axle thrust angle with the Illicit no-cut brackets and factory control arms

Google says the 2024 wheel bearing has to be used on a 2025 Ram.
Anyone put this spindle on a 2025 Ram 4x4?
