This day in age with scammers are you really surprised? Plus with the copy of the work order maybe they want to get the most of a refund back to you or verify the part wasn't replaced for other reasons such as excessive wear from high miles/ snow plowing or result of damage from a crash.
I don't blame them for asking at all.

Don't you already have the work order on hand? Seems a very reasonable thing for them to ask for.

Maybe, Im just confused or they are...I replaced this myself back in March of 2020 when they still were doing the weld repair...there's no work order. I sent them pictures of it on my truck with the old one off.

If you replaced it yourself and not at a dealer then they most likely won't reimburse you.

Ah, thanks for the clarification Kaitlin...I replaced it a year ago when Ram said the 'only' solution was to weld it.

As directed by RAMcares...My truck is getting inspected tomorrow by a local dealer to create and close a "Repair Order." Seems like they're still willing to reimburse for anyone else who took a long time to submit like I did.

Dropped my truck off today. Service writer said they weld the new one as well. I told him the new part does not require welding that’s the whole reason for the new design.
He said he had me down for a replacement so I should be good to go then?
You think they would know more about their job.

I did get a nice 1500 bighorn 4x4 fir a loaner. The rear seat area is much bigger in the newer trucks.

Correct, the replacement does not get welded. Just make sure it's not welded before you drive off the lot...

It's not really their job to know all of details about all of the recalls and service work, imo. Mine told me mine was 'beefier' than what they're install...but they're same part... Recall part # CSZHV061AA = Stock Part # 68338342AB. Good guy, just better at service, than knowing everything about everything Fiat.

I had my inspection done yesterday, I submitted the approved Repair Order to RAMcares today.

My dealership welded my drag link bar with my steering wheel crooked. I even asked up front before dropping it off if an alignment would be done before welding it. They assured me it would. I have started enough **** between Google Reviews and FCA reviews that I doubt it will happen to anyone else at that particular dealership. They offered to correct it for me but I'm not bringing my truck back to them. Never trust someone else to do the work you could and would do yourself. You will never be impressed by the outcome. At least the recall is off the VIN, now if I can just get used to driving with my head slightly tilted it will all be good.. o_O

We can help get you a new drag link if you'd like. You don't have to go back to that dealership either. Feel free to send us a private message with your VIN if you are interested.

RAMcares approved my reimbursement today, $130.

Edit: received the check on Friday, one week later.

Just checked my 2018 and looks like the prior owner had the drag link weld done. PM sent to Kaitlin, hopeful that she can help me get it replaced as it should have been. No reason to half-ass it like that IMHO.

well RAM Cares hasn't done a thing for me. Had a case escalated and FCA told me to screw myself basically. I'm stuck with a poorly welded drag link and a crooked steering wheel. Good luck.

I'm curious, how many miles are on your truck?

Dang. That's still low enough mileage I would think they'd replace it. What was the actual reason they denied it?
Not trying to pry if you don't want to discuss it but I'm just trying to understand the rhyme & reason behind approvals/ denials.

There is no reason. I bought the truck with the recall performed. I noticed the steering wheel was crooked and I wasn't educated enough at the time to address it then. Both my headlights fogged up this winter too and they didn't replace them. They replaced the fog lights no problem but not my headlights.
