Just means in my mind. Greater chance at it being powered by the 6.4

I've never heard that before. Is this something RAM published?

Sort of, at least internally.

In the early 2000s when vans were dying off and SUVS and trucks were taking over more and more, Plymouth dealers were crying they didn't have access to a truck or SUV and Jeep dealers didn't have a truck. FCA was quite willing to sell them a Dodge franchise, but a significant number were too close to an existing Dodge dealership with an area of exclusivity contract. That started the ball rolling for a new brand that all dealerships could buy into and gain access to a truck. Marketing liked the idea, but it never go where they wanted it to be. Dodge as a performance brand still sold the Caravan, for example, and of course Plymouth simply died off. GM had a similar marketing plan to move beyond just badge engineering, but never got the investment into it before killing off Pontiac and Oldsmobile. Buick only exists because of the Chinese market, or it would have gotten axed as well.

Rumor has it that it's going to sit on the power wagon frame.
Probably not since the 1500 and Jeep full size are using the STLA platform. If Ram has a hybrid option in the works for the 2500 platform I could see this happening.

There no reason why the 6.4 can't be slapped into the STLA rails, most of why there's a 6.4 in the HD trucks is it's built to withstand running at it's peak power output better than the 5.7 Hemi.
With the proposed upcoming ERBEV Ram truck, it will out perform the current 6.4 HD truck in the terms of towing/hauling on the light duty aspect something that a significant amount of current 6.4 owners do now. Give the Ram engineers some time to push the duty cycles of the ERBEV upwards along with addressing GVWR/GAWR(s) and it will start to compete with the Cummins.

Nice, but how many more SUV’s we need? To much saturation on them, we need bring back more performance and decent cars with decent fuel economy, not these spinoffs from Alfa Romeo, love my ‘18 ram does everything right. A SUV to me is just a glorified minivan with an overload in tech options

What's the last car with decent fuel economy that sold well for Stellantis/FCA? They had a decent car with the last generation of 200, built it for 2 years, then ceded the field. For nearly 8 years they've had no competitive option, which means nobody thinks of them as an option now. Even if they did built a compelling car, which they won't, it would be expensive AF to design, build, and market since they are starting from nothing. This SUV is just a Ram with cosmetic surgery. It won't sell for **** either, but it's cheaper to roll out for the hand full they will sell.

They are still trying with the performance car, but the dumpster fire that is they new Charger/Challenger replacement is the result of confused development and cost cutting environment resulting in...the thing that it is. The sad truth is performance cars as a market are drying up. Camaro is dead, Mustang sales are declining year over year despite a *very* compelling offering, only the niche upper end market is still selling reasonably well.

Pretty much by default, they have to chase that saturated market of suvs and trucks because that's were the customers are and that's the only thing they are still sort of good at.

If there's an option for a non e torque and it's not some absurd amount, then I'd consider buying it
