just purchased a 2016 1500 outdoorsman with rambox. last night the boxes were locking when i locked the truck. now the drivers side box doesnt lock but the passenger side does. is there a setting i unknowingly switched or some other thing i did to switch it? all i did today was add all my tools to the box.

Pretty common issue. It will still lock with your key, but see this video for the root problem:

Just replaced both of mine on my Ramboxes. Easy DIY fix. Had 2 on hand, and now picked up 2 more and keep them in the glovebox.
Little deceiving when you lock your truck as you can hear the actuator working. Only way to know if they are locked is to physically check them by pushing the button.

Glad you got it fixed. I bought some metal carb linkage clips for mine for the next time this happens.

Yes. I bought an assortment, kind of like this one. I'm not sure exactly what size is needed as I've not had to use one yet. I replaced both of the broken stockers about 1.5 years ago with the Mopar part and so far, so good with them.

A friend just bought a 2013 with this problem. We took one side off to see if it was the clips. Left the cover and the motor off until he gets the clips and he closed the ram box and locked it. Now he says he can't get it open. As far as I can see, it shouldn't make a difference if the cover and motor are removed. The key cylinder and latch are one piece. I'll have to go over to his house and see what I can do. My 2009 doesn't have the power locking feature on the boxes.

Any ideas? At least I know the box is empty so maybe we'll have to try and grab the emergency escape handle through the drain hole.
