I thought I’d share the mods I’ve done to my 2016 Ram Laramie (61K miles) over the past three weeks.
First off, huge thanks to Nick at Go Exhaust for the great deal on the Zone UCAs!
Mods so far:
• Core 4x4 5-pc Trail Series Rear Fixed-Length Control Arm & Panhard/Track Bar Kit (Red)
• Zone Upper Control Arm Kit | Adventure Series | Ram 1500 (’06–’26) 4WD (Thanks Nick!)
• MevoTech TTX Wheel Bearing & Hub Assembly TXF25309
• Fuel Wheels Slayer D838 – 20x9, 5-139.7, 1 GYMTXX (Item #171517)
• Bilstein 5160 Rear Shocks for 1–2.5" Lift (25-325089)
I also have a pair of Bilstein 25-311389 (purchased 3/4/24, ~5k miles) for sale if anyone’s interested!
Thoughts:
• The Core 4x4 setup looks great. Not sure how much benefit I’ll see yet, but the stock arms were worn out, and my philosophy is “go big or go home.”
• The Zone UCAs are a huge improvement for ball joint angles, even at the 2.4" setting on the Bilstein 6112s. Odd that they use a locking nut instead of a castle nut, but no biggie.
• Pulled off the MevoTech TTX UCAs—they’re up for grabs if anyone’s interested.
• The MevoTech TTX hubs were a pain at first until I switched to a 3/4" drive to remove/install the bolts. Passenger side hub was blown out, so I replaced both while I had everything apart.
