So I've been looking to level my truck for a while. Originally I was planning on going with the motofab 3" front 1.5" rear spacers but recently I noticed the shock/strut on the passenger side of my truck has started to leak so I figure I'm going to need to replace them. My truck is a 2011 ram 1500. I'm looking for opinions on wether I should replace the shock/struts with oem parts and still use the motofab spacers or if I should buy the rancho quick lift shocks and install them. Price wise either option is pretty similar. Also I've seen people changing out there UCA's as well with these kids. What's the reason for that? Do the stock ones not hold up?

Buy some Bilstein 5100's and set them at 2.8" and enjoy the new, more comfy than stock ride. You will be almost leveled then also, so no need for rear spacers unless you like the rack the truck has.

The people changing the UCA's are the guys with the newer trucks. Their UCA's sometimes push the upper ball joints out when a leveling kit is installed.

It's the 13+ that need the new UCA's. Anything older you don't need to worry about it.

Alright, thanks for the info I looked into the bilsteins and they are actually cheaper so that will probably be the route I go. Just for future reference in the future what size tire could I fit with the bilsteins?

I'm going to be putting on 35x12.5 Toyos when they come in. Bils will be set at 2.8

As stated above , you'll be good to go with the bills @ +2.8" top ring .
I just did mine and the ride IS GREAT ! Hell I thought my ride was good with 20k mile stock shocks , the Bilsteins are noticeably better.
I have a 2014 , so I installed aftermarket UCA with greasable ball joints for peace of mind only , Lots of guys not having any issues with OEM UCA'S ! Thatdude596 has stock ones and 37s on an 11" lift with procomp adjustable shocks (I think)
My pics below on Bilstein install.

If your gonna go with the Bilsteins check out a video ( not me ) I posted in 4th Gen DIY Titled " HOW TO INSTALL A LIFT KIT " there's a decent representation of the install , and tools required .

One thing lots of guys seem to get wrong is the washer (under the nut ) that comes with your new bilstein 5100 .
When you reinstall that flat washer goes on the top of the piston before you install the upper assy above the coil spring . The flat washer does not go directly under the nut as typical. ..
Hope this helps !
