The engineer that thought that was a good idea should be shot and pissed on. Seriously. Sometimes I think they get paid to sit around a table to devise the most screwed up, infuriating ways of complicating simple routine maintenance. Masochists.

Yeah it is a ***** to do even with the right adapter for the grease gun. Did mine last week for the third time and if you do not hold that needle adapter just right, grease goes everywhere but in the fitting.

Yup. Thinking there might be a little slinging grease for a bit.

Alarmingly when I went to grab the "official mopar grease" they didn't have it. Never have had it. They only grease them when the customer asks, and use plain old bearing grease (which is perfectly fine except for the "must meet or exceed blah blah blah spec) So I grabbed some Lucas heavy duty and called it good- it was on sale ;)

Yeah we use them on our equipment too and I have resigned myself to the fact that I have to buy one for home now. I am not nearly as annoyed by that as my wife is lol!

I think so long as the grease is lithium based, you should be alright. Most general purpose or multi-duty type greases are lithium based.

Its polyurea shear stable. So it *should* be compatible with lithium greases. I was tempted to try and purge some out of the joint until I realized after about 4 pumps that it was basically empty. I will just lube it a little more frequently for the first little while to make sure it has no more lithium grease left in it.
