Anyone know what this random plug hanging off the horn harness goes to? I looked around and found no connectors it could jave come out of. Any help would be appreciated. It's a 2012 with a 5.7 liter. Thanks everyone!

If I were at home I would go outside and look. If no one answers I will check when I get home in the morning.

The wires appear to be purple and black, and there are two. The connector is the same style that plugs into both sides of the horn.

if you had remote start, it would be for the hood latch switch.

I have remote start and I think mine are disconnected as well.

If you have a mopar remote start, it would not work if the hood switch was not connected.

Mopar remote start uses a hood latch switch that is integrated into the hood latch assembly. If you have a mopar remote start the connection is on the left side of the hood latch (when viewed from front of truck) and would be clearly visible in the photo that motorider provided. I have seen some trucks have the plug and wire there for the hood latch ready for adding remote start after it leaves the factory, but somewhere along the build it does not connect to the BCM. In this case, when adding a remote start, another wire and plug has to be routed from the hood latch switch to the BCM. I guess what I'm getting at is if you have a mopar remote start and you see this same connector unpopulated, that may be the reason. And by looking at motoriders photo, the truck does not have a mopar remote start, because the hood latch shown has no switch.

I just checked it and Corbin is 100% correct. It is the hood switch. Purple and black wires.
