Found a random plug in the back of my truck. Mounted to the drivers side frame rail. Behind the rear bumper. Come out of the harness for the trailer and license plate. Anyone know what this plug goes to. Thanks. 2015 ram 1500 ccsb tradesman/express

Guessing it is for the park assist sensors.
That’s what I was thinking. But there isn’t anything by the drivers side kick panel for the packing sensor box. Unless it’s hidden.

That plug is the wiring for the bumper sensors, your truck doesn't have them.
This is that plug on my '15 that has the sensorsView attachment 569912
Do you know where it comes in the can? Or where the harness terminates? I don’t see a plug in the drivers kick panel for the module

I'm not sure where the module is inside the vehicle but @SitKneelBend or @Mpgrimm2 might know, let's see if they chime in.
I know the parking sensor module is in the drivers side kick panel. Will see if they have any insight. I would like to add it to my truck. Since it looks like half the harness is already in my truck.

I'll use the front sensors every once in while but if you have the reverse camera the back ones are sorta pointless. You'll want to have the multi-page color EVIC or you'll just have the beeping, also if you don't have the factory radio it won't beep. I'd save your money unless it's a mod you just want to say you added.

I have the premium Evic and 8.4 uconnect. It’s just something I want to do. I’m just trying to figure out where the wires terminate or if there is a plug for the module hiding somewhere under the dash.

As an automotive electrical tech, I hate seeing open plugs. Even if the option for said plug was not built into the vehicle, PUT A DUMMY PLUG CAP ON IT. Corrosion can creep into other circuits that are actually used in that plug. My company had a warranty claim because there was a harness plug that was being used, but had an empty port without a dead end plug in it. Said connection got water in it, shorted out, and a tanker/tender(3000 gallon water capacity) fire truck had a dump valve open while driving down the road, dumping the entire tank.

At least coat/stuff it with some dielectric grease if nothing else but a dummy plug cap is probrably best. It's still connected electrically to the system so I'd do something to that end for eliminating a potential source of trouble later.
Personally, I'd stuff it full with dielectric grease AND use a dummy cap too.

That is certainly the plug for the rear sensors. It terminates in the main plug behind the drivers wheel well cover, just above the frame. Since your truck has no sensors, the rest of the harness will not be there. As on my truck, to add the parking sensors, I had to pin in new wires on the engine side of that harness, and run those wires all the way into the cab, because the dash harness also will not have the sensor wires.

Do you have any pictures or info for this. I am wanting to add them to my truck. Thanks for the help.

Not really, sorry. I just got the wiring diagram, pulled wires and pins off the connector in a junk yard and started wiring. I have years of experience in doing wiring and wire repair from the Military.

Ok. To easy. Do you know where I could find the wiring diagram for it? Will look into it. And see what I can do myself.

Use Control F to word search on a PC with your preferred PDF viewer.

Back then, it was called Rear Park Assist, aka RPA in the manual.

The RPA section begins on page 1377.
Rear Park Assist sensors, page 1384.
The Park Assist Module location and details, page 1386.
