Fellows,

About 3 months ago I installed a belltech 2/4 kit with the sp shocks. I'm in love with the way it looks and handles. Lately tho, I've noticed a slight rattling noise coming from the passenger side. I have searched high and low for the cause of it and have found nothing, until tonight. I got under the truck and started wiggling things and I believe I found the culprit. I've attached a picture since I'm not sure what they are called. Rust inhibitors? Just wanted to pass on the info in case someone is hearing the same thing and maybe someone can confirm my theory. Thanks....

Those are actually to improve the ride of the quad and crew cabs, Not rust inhibitors. They're absent on the regular cab short beds.

Got it, thanks. I always thought they were there to "attract" rust so it wouldn't happen to the frame. Do you think that is what could be rattling?

Hard to say without seeing it in person. Could be any number of things even including bad shocks. Go back and recheck every nut and bolt that was touched during install.

Sometimes, even if the bolts and nuts seem tight enough they need to be torqued to spec. I had what seem like a bad shock happen to me because I had tightened the nuts to a very precise german spec, gudentite. This was back before I bought a torque wrench. Somebody on the forums suggested the same as I am. Went out and got a torque wrench, torqued all the nuts and voila, problem solved.

mine is having some rattling and i think ive narrowed it down to the top bolt of the shock not being tight enough so the shocks move around so you might try checking there.

I did, and it just so happened that it was. This was about a week after install tho.
