Ever since i got my Ram, especially after installing the leveling kit, it seems as if i'm flicking more people off, flashing my high beams at people more. there hasn't been one night when i'm driving, that some a$$hole in front of me, starts yelling/flicking me off because my head lights are bothering him.

Even driving down the street at night, cars going in the opposite direction flash their high beams at me, or when i'm in a left turn lane, car facing me turns their high beams on. I figure it's really dark for them so i turn mine on to help em out. their lights don't bother me because i'm so high up but can tell they're fuming inside.

Am i the only one with this head light issue?

By dropping/leveling the rear end, you effectively pointed the headlights in people's faces.

Adjust your headlights down. I had the same thing with mine until I adjusted their aim down to where they should be.

I'm stock and oncoming cars would often flash me. I lowered them (1 turn) and it seems to have resolve the issue. Like previously mentioned, you need to adjust them since you changed the truck height an level.

I'm hardly the "search police" and am more than willing to help anyone out at any time, but starting a new thread rather than first searching and reading existing threads just waters down the ability TO find anything. Pick a topic, any topic, and there's likely already 20 threads about it, some good, some bad, but that's my point...

As the other guy said, just use google. I always have bad luck with forum searches... but google will find the thread in the forum right away.

It's not so much as you "have a headlight issue", but more along the lines of you being another one of those ass clowns who does a lift/level and doesn't adjust their headlights. I'm pretty fed up with people jacking their vehicle up and not adjusting their equipment properly, they steady high beams and then a light bar if they high beam me.

If you don't have a torx bit either on a handle or a 1/4 inch drive socket with extension, you can use a 7 or 8 mm socket on the adjuster.

I would highly suggest getting a set of torx sockets if you don't already. You will need them.

Like i mentioned on my original post, i had this issue before i installed the leveling kit. does that still put me in the ass clown category? i adjusted them last night, so now hopefully i'm not a ass clown anymore.

My apologies (zeddy), I was irritated this morning about work stuff and got on the forum. When I read your original post I misread and thought you were wondering why they hi-beam you after the level.

You say you've had this problem before the level, I've noticed (I think the manufacturer's are slacking) that a lot of new vehicles come at you like their hi-beams are on. That leads me to believe that they are not properly adjusting the lights upon manufacturing the vehicles. That would mean that they're either to low (or in your case) to high or one is low and one is high. Now that you have a level you'd be spotlight Southwest Airlines. I've always used the rule of thumb when adjusting that at 20' the top of your lights should shine right below the mirrors on the "car" in front of you.

As for the "ass clown" comment, I hope that you accept my apologie as it was not intentional.

Oh no, worries, i totally understand where your coming from. this is my first real 4x4 truck. should of researched more. My old titan 2wd with a 4inch lift was still lower than my stock ram so adjusting lights was never an issue.

I get the occasional flash at me, especially after installing HID's in the lows/fogs. Not one issue with law enforcement (and I've been pulled over twice at night since for other violations) regarding my lights. And I live in an area where the local cops don't hesitate to write citations for petty things.

Once or twice it was actually somebody that came around a corner with their highs already ON, and they flashed them at me - like they weren't blinding people as well. It's just the entitlement complex of people out there these days (the real ass clowns), that think I actually give a flying **** if they are slightly inconvenienced by my trucks headlights... So I "politely" flash them back - just in case they're confused about the status of my high beams being on or off.

And before anybody on here looking to get their troll on - I made sure everything is aimed as low as possible without compromising the effectiveness of the lighting *I* need to drive my 5500 pound truck safely when it's dark out. I do respect the fact that if the guy coming at me IS blinded by my lighting, it's only going to increase the risk of the guy veering into me. But they're not blinding anybody... I've asked unbiased friends, and have had multiple convo's with JJ about (what to buy) the temp and wattage of my lights, specifically with other drivers in mind. Some people are just entitled, sensitive, whiny, little *******. :favorites13:

I had HID's in until I was cited for them. I never realized how much they blind oncoming traffic, (adjusted) or (not adjusted) in a "halogen" headlight housing until I saw them in cars coming at me... until I couldn't see.

I'm guessing that you live (in) or (around) the city if Chicago. I was told by a lead detective in Chicago PD that they don't have time for that kind of stuff, he said they had, something like 28 unsolved murders on the book's.

I'm guessing you had a typo, but you said it without me having to... It "will" increase the possibility of you getting hit head on on a 2 lane road (I see it every day), you may go on without issue, but people do swerve a bit when they're blinded. It also increases the possibility of them having an accident in another form because they were blinded and can't see.... you have a lawsuit at that time.

I have seen 4th gen's with with HID's that are (basically) just a different color and don't blind, but I see more that do blind. I'm glad that you got your kit thinking about not blinding other drivers, but just a (thought) doesn't really make a difference in this unless it actually "does not" blind.

On top of everything - I'm not against HID's in halogen housings because I had it too, but I think spending the money to do it right, whether it be a projector retrofit or upping to a projection set of lights is the correct way.

Mine look like they're OEM. Not some crazy riced out purple beam that's scattered everywhere. Like I stated, I was concerned about them being "too bright" from day 1. After taking a consensus from a dozen friends I'd consider intelligent and analytical, they deemed my lighting acceptable.

I live 30 miles outside the city. The town I live in has ~70k residents and averages 1 homicide a year. The local police definitely aren't "too busy" to write citations for petty violations. I've received plenty of them, just never for the headlights. However, you are correct about CPD. They are grossly understaffed, and have been for years (no fault of their own).

On your point regarding a lawsuit : well, the parts I installed are labeled as D.O.T. compliant, which according to IL law, makes them perfectly legal. If somebody swerves into me, their "I was blinded by the headlights" argument wont do them any good.

I did not have a typo. I said that I was legitimately concerned with blinding people, regardless of the legality of the lighting. I know that my lighting isn't going to do much good if I actually blind oncoming traffic. So I took steps to make sure they weren't too bright, and that they're properly aimed through my OEM projector housings, by conducting my own testing, without my own opinion weighing in (example: having friends drive past me head-on, with various types of vehicles). Sure, I heard "they are definitely bright..." but not one complaint about not being able to see.

Anyways... What this really is, is some people (the self entitled princes and princesses out there) being "annoyed" by other vehicle's headlights. They can kindly GFTs.
