Hey i have a 2017 ram 1500 crew cab 6.4 box with a leer top (350-400 lbs)

I load up the truck for our fishing trip. The whole bed filled up, a small aluminum 14 footer boat (1500lbs total trailer+boat) on the back. 2 adults and one baby.

I found the back was sagging a bit, normal.

I’ve been checking to add new coils. I see 35% increase, 50 and then 70%.

Im looking at the 35% increase capacity. But I see it lifts vehicle 1-2 inches.

I’m not looking for a lift. I just want something “stiffer” and still have a nice ride.

Do you guys think since I have that Top (350-400lbs), 35% capacity won’t really lift the truck as much?

Thx

If the truck is sagging, you are overweight. No idea what else you have in or on truck like tool box, running boards, gear, etc. but the answer is to remove weight. Adding anything to raise the truck just masks the problem, and you would still have issues like your front brakes aren't properly working to keep you all safe when stopping because their capacity to reduce your velocity is compromised. You have to eliminate some of that stuff in the bed and get your truck weight where it should be, or consider a 2500 to better carry the gear.

Get a trailer . They are also good because you don’t need to unload at the end of the trip , it can wait a few days if needed.

For what it's worth, I'm running Bilstein B12 rear coils (after air-ride delete) and did get some lift. My rear measurements (from ground to center point of fender flare), both driver and passenger side are 39 inches.

'15 1500 Laramie 4x4 - no topper but am running a headache rack.

No experience myself, but over years some have upgraded with tuftruck progressive coils and been happy. Worth a look.

Its not sagging that much. I just want it more level. Its food, cloths and essentials in the bed and im pulling a 1500 lbs aluminum boat. Come on, truck is able to pull 8000lbs ( i wouldn't do it )

Look into the bags that go inside the springs, you can air them up for when the trucks loaded, then air them back down when not needed.
If you look close i had them in my lowered truck, but they were there strictly for drag racing, but they'd work for you to.
If you go that way,run each bag on it's own air line,i had my fittings in the licence plate bolts.

My aluminum canopy and Decked box weights about 500lbs and I tow an aluminum Bass Tracker. Went with to 50% increase springs. Happy with them but finding the right height can be tricky. You could also do a small top spacer to get some height back from the canopy.

Couple posts down is my thread on rear springs. I have a crew cab 6.5ft bed. The 5th gen springs I installed are a progress rate spring, so they should handle loads better than the factory. With the cap and a few pounds in the bed, you likely won't see any lift, but they should support the loads better. And at least than $100 for a set and a super easy install, I'd go that route before dumping more money on more expensive coils that might ride a lot rougher. If you feel you need more load carrying after, then I'd get the bags that fit inside the coils.
