You don't need anything special, 410 will fit. On my old 2013 5.7 with the 6 speed tranny I went 355 open diff to 410 LSD and everything fit perfectly.

Depends on the year, and 2WD or 4WD ... I’ve been told there is something welded in the front diff of my 2012 4WD, and can’t do a gear swap

If you're 2WD, you'll get off reasonably inexpensivly. It when you go post 2012 4WD, that things get real expensive.

Wow, I'll bet that woke the truck up! I would be interested in doing this exact change, if it wasn't so damn expensive!

Yeah if you got a 2x4 then it’s not to bad, 4x4 it is to complicated depending on year.
The 410’s were a nice improvement But wish I had got the 456. I was imagining this huge improvement but was honestly disappointed in my decision.

Lud, since you have a 2009, it’s not terribly expensive to regear.

Hammer, did you have 3.73s? Did you regear your current 2500, or was it an older 1500? What size tires? I’m trying to figure out why you were disappointed with 4.10s.

I had a 2013 5.7 1500 2x4 with the six speed and 3.55’s, had 305/50r20 if I remember correctly. It was a good upgrade from stock but I was racing at the time. Wasn’t what I thought it would be. My 2500 is bone stock.

Yeah, 305s are kind of heavy. If you’re racing, 4.56s would be the way to go. 4.10s are more towards a really great all around ratio.
