Why is there water under the rear seat in the storage area?

Your third brake light is most likely leaking.

Another possible source is the rear window seal where it meets the rubber drip rail trim at the roof. The brake light is the more likely culprit tough.

This was my issue on my 2014. Leaking water from the headliner and in the bottom storage areas under the back seat. I removed the cab brake light, removed the OEM sealing (kind of a pain in the ass) and put on better sealant...never had a problem after that. This is on my "to-do" list for the 2017 I just bought...as soon as the weather gives me a singe decent weekend day to do it.

Happened on my 2017 after having it for a whole month. Disappointing they still havent fixed the design issue, but the dealer was quick to re-seal it and clean up the headliner for me.

Hasnt been an issue since, sitting outside for 5 more months in plenty of downpours, melting snow, wind, etc.

My neighbor had this problem on his 2015 CTD. It was the rear window seal.
