I just bought a 2019 2500 diesel 2WD. I was picking up a couch for my sister and had to back up a slight grade however half way into backing out from the drive way my rear wheels started spinning and I couldn’t continue in reverse. This also happen while putting my pull behind trailer away and attempting to back over the curb. The wheels started spinning when the back of my front tires attempted to go over the curb. Any clues as to why. My truck has anti-spin differential rear axle.

A 2WD CTD especially the dually kind can turn into a Sit-N-Spin really fast without a significant payload. The crappy stock tires don't help the situation.
Why this happens is due in part to the extra 1000 lbs(vs a gasser) you have over the front axle. There isn't enough weight on the rear axles for the amount of force required to move the truck. My buddy usually has to put his CTD in 4X4 if he wants to pull his cargo trailer empty off his driveway onto the grass if it's wet.

Stock tires suck. I always swapped out to Nitto Terra Grapplers immediately on all of my Cummins trucks

As previously posted, diesels are very nose heavy. You’ll have to adjust your driving habits to avoid low traction situations and dropping the front into any obstacle. They will literally get stuck in wet grass if the ground is soft.

This is why I must have 4x4. I've had three rams diesel and gas . I've done incredible things in 4wd and I've been embarrassed when in 2wd at it's limitations. Remember the brake application thing you can do in slippery situations also. This trick has ended some crowd pleasing moments for me.

I have a steep driveway and with all my pickups I have had to put them into 4WD to back up it. Anti-spin is not going to help as both of the rear wheels lack traction. The stock tires are actually going to have more contact area than after market all terrain tires so changing tires is not going to help at all.

Letting 15-20 lbs of air out of the rear tires might help or get a couple fluffy guys to stand on the rear bumper as you start up the driveway.
