I've got a '15 Express in Mint-Tabulous condition with 17,911 miles on it. The Blue Book on mine, in Excellent Condition is only $21,900

$25,500 for a Rebuilt Title? H**L NAH !

I have purchased two rebuilt and banks won't finance it will need to be a cash deal plus that's way too high a price I just got a big horn this past summer paid $22k with low miles , and mine isn't rebuilt now and they are very hard to sell after it took me a year to sell the last one

Nothing wrong with buying an R titled vehicle if it's done right. BUT... Don't buy it if you plan to sell it anytime soon. It only makes sense if you plan to keep it and run it until the end of it's useful life. Also, WHY it was totaled means a lot as well. If it is anything to do with flood or water damage, forget it.

The local Craigslist ads are littered with rebuilt/salvage title vehicles with most asking full price. People are crazy.

You may not be able to get full coverage insurance. Check with your insurance company.
If moving to another state, it may need to be respected. I would reqire receipts for everything that was replaced. If used parts, a receipt with the VIN of donor vehicle may be required.

I bought a 2016 Ram 1500 Big Horn, Loaded with options with 8000 miles, repaired title, no Factory warranty, paid 25,000, no problem with insurance or lender. I'm a retired Diesel and heavy equipment mechanic of 47 years, I gave this truck my own inspection, and was satisfied the dealer did a great job on repairing and the Michigan State Police Motor Division re-certified the repairs, I love this truck and not worried about not having the manufactures warranty, as I do all my own repairs if needed. The Dealer that sold me the truck gave me a 1 year on the drive train for any reason or mileage, I assumed all risks and was fully aware of what I was buying.......Not saying all other vehicles were repaired correctly, there are many unscrupulous repair facility's around, you have to look carefully and through the cosmetic appearance, if your not willing to assume the risk...then by all means pass it up !!!!!

I think the issue here isn't the fact that it is a rebuilt title, it is the price. In Aug 2017 I bought my 2015 Ram with 29k miles on it for $29k. It is a 4wd big horn with 3.92 gears, Navi, power fold mirrors, Alpine stereo and no leather. I still had the factory warranty, and threw in the Maxcare (I drive 21k miles per year).

I wouldn't have pay more than $15k for the same truck if it was rebuilt.

Your 1st repair should be replace the stock exhaust manifolds with descent headers and harder bolts before yours break off in the head.

Thanks for the input guys really swaying my decision I’m not in a hurry to buy and I’d much rather pay more on the front end for resale on the back I’d love to say I’ll keep it for ever but plans always change ya know.

Ben i have been going to a dealer sale for over 25 yrs and the crew is right, if that truck ever made a Dealer auction it will be announced a rebuilt title and will effect the sale price but no where near 50% , i am afraid at that price its a losing proposition.

I have a 2017 ram 1500 with less than a 1000 miles I am interested in buying from a local company in South Carolina. The problem is that it’s currently totaled and is being rebuilt. The guy that’s rebuilding it is turning a big horn trim package to a sport package inside and out and he wants 25500 for it. I have a friend that just bought one from him and is currently getting it titled, his truck is amazing you cannot tell it had ever been in an accident. I’m looking for pros and cons of the rebuilt title because with it being over 20k I don’t want to loose my ass when I sell it 5 years from now when I get new truck fever again.

You will "lose your ass" whenever you try to sell it. Regardless how good it's been rebuilt, the key word is "rebuilt". People are NOT gonna want a vehicle that's been smashed up, and then repaired to "Rebuilt" status. (Or any kind of "repair" status for that matter). Remember...."it's only ORIGINAL once". My advice.....run, don't walk, RUN away.

SALVAGE TITLE. When you sell, you might find a bargain hunter, but you'll probably have to go the agreed value $$$ on auto insurance route.
