Hey everyone, I have a 2019, new model, dodge ram Laramie with the 5.7. I’ve had it for a year and a half I have about 20,000 miles on it and honestly I’ve had no problems with it whatsoever. However, as they drove it up to my cabin in West Virginia this weekend I’ve tried to remote start it twice and while it did start it’s sputtered really bad at start up. Once it was running it was fine and once it was warm it was fine. But it happened twice on two different days each when the engine was cold. Is this something I should worry about?

I have the same issue, but it’s almost every morning here in OKC, it’s not that cold here and it has a rough start up. Dealer said Ram knows about it and it should require a software update is all. I get mine on Wednesday so I’ll let you know Thursday if it does it after the update.

I have a 2012 and mines been doing this forever. Everything checks out fine, no issues... brand new battery.. no issue with the starter TIPM fuel pump or plugs... 3 shops couldn't figure it out.
Been chasing it awhile.

Wouldn't hurt to run a good PEA cleaner like redline s1-1 through it, clean the injectors and combustion chamber. Clean throttle body as well, maybe check air filter. Gas, air and spark is all we need right, can likely rule out spark.

Had this issue on my 2015 5.7 every time winter blend gas hit the pumps. Normally I'd run a bottle of redline through it and it would come out of it.

That is such a good point, vehicles are tuned for certain gas and even though it in theory should have the same octane rating, it doesn't have the same energy.

By the way do you know what happened sept 15? That is when they changed to winter gas.
