Hey guys,

looking to see if anyone has installed wrangler duratracs i had them on my jeep and they sucked my MPG down but that vehicle was quite under powered.

Looking for some input will be mounting them on the 20s

to be honest, they will without a doubt drop your mpgs, but that i a given with a more aggressive tire. If mpg's is that important you want to stick with a radial tire.

These wranglers suck in snow and that is a major concern out here in the northeast .... What's avg mpg with the 8speed and duratracs

I work in a tire shop. Any all terrain tire is going to do worse in mpg. A radial or ht tire will help keep the same mpg. If you are looking for an all terrain and trying to keep the same mpg. Michelin lte at2 are good but michelins do have a dry rot issue. Goodyear ats are good but wear very quickly. Bridgestone at revo 2 or nitto terra grapplers will be your better choices.

Terra grapplers look pretty aggressive that would be a good choice?

Definitely a good choice for on-road, wet/dry performance. I never took mine offroad though. I noticed no drop in mpg from stock GY's to Terra Grapps. But i also went from a 20" rim to an 18. That may have offset any drop in mpg.

I'm just looking for something solid with a good look and great snow wet traction, I'll probably level the truck at the very least.

So that being said what further size and recommendation could you make?

About a 32.5 inch tire but 12" wide. looks fine stock, maybe just a tad small.
I imagine a taller tire is out of the question?

I can't begin to tell you how much I disliked the duratracs on my lifted Frontier. Cooper ATP's would be a good one to think about too.

I love my duratracs, mine are d rated, 285/60/20, they are better in winter in an 18 as any tire with more sidewall for winter, but they still perform also, they are by far the most popular tire around here(northern Ontario), probably one of the best year round tires

not sure only had the stockers on for 2-3 weeks and never checked what I was getting, with these on the highway I can easily average 19-20, with 6spd and 3.55 gears, my overall average including driving around town is usually around the 16 mark

I shopped around a lot and think I'm settled on the Terra Grapplers. As for size, I have level and plan a 3" body lift so I'm going 35's. I've seen people run 35's with a level. Think it looks a little stuffed. Could run 34's, that seems to look pretty good with just a level. Really depends on your taste IMO though.

I'm thinking the terra as well never had that brand but reviews look good and I won't be going to high with a lift 2 - 3" those tires should be fine

35" terras?

I'd have to raise the rear of the truck to fit them no? Was going to just start with the tires because I heard the Wrangler HP are horrible in the snow
