I bought a new truck and don't need the remote start off the previous truck. I had it in a 2012 1500 and only used it for about 3 months in a non daily driver truck.
What you're getting is the CHTHD1 to Harness & DBall unit. It should work with all 2009 - 2012 Ram 1500 and I according to the compatability chart 2011 & 2012 Ram 2500 & 3500 should work also. PM me if interested.

The guy I bought it from on ebay programmed it for my truck. As far as I know it is just plug and play. It plus into the obd2 connection. But the lock button three times to start or shut down the truck.

I got it from a guy on ebay ''doug43235''. If you have any specific questions about the unit he should be able to answer them.

Disconnect the harness that goes into your OBD2 and plug this in between that harness and the OBD2, hit the lock button three times and it should start in about 6-10 seconds. When you get in the truck you have to insert the key and turn it to the on position to drive. If you forget, as soon as you push the brake down the truck will shut off. The unit is programmed to run for 15 minutes and shut down by itself so you won't forget and run out of gas. To turn the truck off, hit the lock button three more times.

Worked like a dream, 10 minutes for install and that's mostly doing the zip ties. Plugged in and flashed green without the need to sync to the vehicle. I still turned the key to be sure. Thanks!

When you go to eBay do a search for the guys user name and his auctions will pop up. Get the auction with the DBall and harness. Trust me, the hardest part of the install was disconnecting the harness from itself. Plugging it to the truck was the easy part. If you still aren't sure you are buying the correct item, Doug provides a compatability chart. Look for that link in his auction.
