I have 2016 Tradesman 2500 Cummins. I have the AlfaOBD and was wondering if there is a way to turn on the remote start without adding anything.

Nope, doesn’t work like that.

@JamesM81, You CAN turn on remote start with a minimum of added parts. I highly recommend installing the correct switched hood latch for safety. The wiring from the BCM terminates under the PDC on the HD trucks. It is not bad to get to the gray connector.
I wont go through the whole process here as it is covered in a few other threads but I just activated remote start in my ‘15 3500 and the only parts I purchased were the hood latch and connector kit. Then activated with AlfaOBD.

This is the one for the 2021 2500. Just search Google for your year and model remote start kit.

I just installed a Start-X remote start system a few days ago. It was inexpensive and works with your current key fob (after you install it, if you press lock three times in a row it starts up), would recommend.
