Remote Start

Hello guys I have a 2017 Ram 2500 SLT so it doesn’t have remote start so I got the hood latch and wiring harness hooked it all up I used OBD JScan to program the remote start and it still doesn’t work everything is hooked up properly. Do anyone have advice? Thank you in advance!!!

did you wire up the hood latch under the dash, pin 11 or 12 i believe

what does the evic say when you try to use the remote start?

Yes it’s wired to the body control to pin 11 not getting any lights or anything when I try to remote start it.

Yes it is wired to the hood latch and the body control module in pin 11

Did you reset the rf hub with the PIN after configuring the bcm for remote start?

I didn’t use alfaOBD I used JScan from my iPhone it turned on my daytime running lights but not the remote start feature I did set the hood latch and remote start to active I didn’t do anything to the key fobs only light that is on is tire pressure light

I did turn on he remote start in JScan it’s just and it says active but it’s still not working

Do this, sit in the truck and lock it with the keyfob

Then hit the remote start button

Does a message show up in between the gauges ?

I had to get a new key fob and it has the remote start button on it

No I didn’t will try that

Yeah, for your 2017 you’ll need to go into adaptations > radio frequency hub settings, and read the PIN, then reset the rf hub by performing the replace procedure in order for remote start to start working. Also, don’t forget to drive above 32mph before trying remote start.

The key state is usually indicated when it matters.
AlfaOBD shows the RUN position for this activity.

I complete most changes with the Start Button in the 'OFF' position unless directed otherwise.





I have no experience resetting the RF hub and have no idea how long it takes.
