Sorry, I'm sure it's a repost. I searched but I went through several pages with nothing of use for my situation.

My 8.4 has so many issues on my 2018 Laramie 2500. Often times it freezes, after 30mins of driving it will stop my driver's side heated seat from working, sometimes certain parts of the screen work when others don't. As well as a handful of other issues that are becoming more and more prevalent as I add on miles (75k). I've owned the truck since new and it was probably a year in it started to act up a little.

So to my question, are these commonly problematic? Should I just replace it with a factory unit? Is there even an aftermarket option that allows me to retain my factory buttons and functions? I could live with all the issues if it just didn't **** with my heated seat, it's so nice for my back on long drives.

Touch screen bad maybe? Unfortunately I think they're hard to get right now.

So I just ran into this not uconnect issues, as my 12 did not have it. I went from a cd/xm base radio to the touch screen/dvd/navi unit. I got mine at a steal. I am sure like mine and probably yours there are several other models of vehicles that will work. If you don't have a definite answer by tomorrow I will do some digging into its for you. I have been awake since 2 am. Poor adult choices to take the kids and try and get free coffee for a year. I will say this my Chargers uconnect has never had one issue. My wifes 19 Pacifica is glitchy. Its not just Dodge that has these issues. Cadillac does too. Ill try and source you some sort of answer tomorrow. I am going to take the wife to dinner and then we are all going to be early today.

It is a possibility it is overheating and that is the root cause of all of your issues. Would you say it "touches and/or changes things on its own" or "it is sometimes unresponsive to touch"?

You may need to research the
Heating & or Cooling of the seats & steering wheel
Yours may be working as it was designed to function

I know that i have read about outside temperature having to be met
Like your heated seats won't turn on at high temperatures, i don't know what that cut off point is ?

I know that people are always complaining about the amount of Time, as in Duration
