Replace Uconnect 8.4 RA4 - Programming needed?

Ok, need to replace my uconnect RA4 (nav,siriusxm, voice recognition). If I buy a used uconnect - same model with unlock code, does it need any information from the old uconnect to pickup the correct setup OR does it communicate and "know" by the vin number ? Do I need to go into dealer mode and add this information? I have the siriusxm subscription code also... Thank you

RA4 to RA4 is a direct swap. If you have a Sirius subscription you will need to contact them to transfer it. I find CHAT to work well with them. If you have 3G it probably won't work.
