Replacing 130RES with UConnect

Pretty sure I have a 130RES, and I def have UConnect. Wife just got Durango with 730N. Just wondering if I find someone selling their 730N or a junkyard version, can I just swap it into my truck and it'll work? I have the Alpine premium system too fwiw.

All the connectors should be there, but not all the features will work until you have a dealer unlock them. Things like backup cam won't work if the hardware isn't present. Be prepared, the 730s are ridiculously expensive.

yeah i saw them on google shopping for 1800 ish. I had no intensions of paying that, but hoping an opportunity presents itself one day. I have priced a Kenwod 9500 series install with backup cam, etc. I got quoed about 1400 for the whole setup, installed. I really want to get in and out for 800 ish - maybe not reasonable but thats about where I value the upgrade from a cash out of pocket perspective.

The 730 has the Uconnect built in. You would just have to buy the mic cable that plugs into the back of the 730 stereo and route it up to the top of the A pillar. I would then remove the Uconnect module and wiring for it then sell it on ebay you could probably recoupe $150 by selling the module and harness. Since you currently have the 139 RES, you don't have the back up camera but just an FYI if you had the factory camera it would be plug and play because the EVIC would've been already updated at the factory for the camera. BTW, USE HIGH SPEED BUS RADIO. Low speed won't work in our trucks. The 730N is $1300 at this site: USA/CAN- HIGH SPEED RHR 4820 [RHR 4820] - $1,299.99 : OEM Auto Parts. Cheaper then your Kenwood option & keeps the factory look.
