Hey all, have a 14 crew cab express with the non touch screen.

I am thinking I may just replace the door speakers for now and leave alone the head unit.

My question is if I replace all 6 speakers just with the head unit how much difference will I notice?

Or should I wait a while until I can add a mini amp for the doors, a sub, and a new double din?

Or could I add a mini amp with the factory hu and replace the door speakers?

Not really sure what to do. Would like to spend as little as possible.

I'm not looking for a mega system or to spend a grand. Last two trucks had a Bose with mini woofer and an infinity system and I was very happy with them.

Mines only a 2011, but I replaced the front door and dash speakers with the Mopar custom Kicker speakers. They're made slightly shallower to fit the doors as an exact replacement and even have the factory connectors on them so they are truly plug-n-play.

I think they made a big difference in sound and clarity.

You would have to check to see if they fit your 2014, but these are the ones:

I replaced my factory speakers with Polk Audio in the dash and front doors and Kickers in the back doors. Bought everything from Crutchfield and they included wire adapters as well as adapter plates for the front door speakers. Made everything plug & play, took less than an hour to swap out all six and made a huge difference. So much so that when I brought my wife out to hear it she immediately had me buy new speakers for our Jeep.

you don't need to replace the factory stereo unless you want to. You can add an amp to power what ever you choose to put in. A better deck could eliminate the need for an amp, depending on what speakers you put in and how many you replace.

Thanks guys. Been forever since I had to do stereo work on a vehicle. I'll start shopping around. I was curious because I know with my factory unit I can't turn past about 24-25 without it sounding awful! Figured it has more juice to push if I put in bigger speakers

Should I do 6x9 all 4 doors and replace the 3.5" or go 6x9 up front 6.5" round in back and replace the dash.

I think I saw that with the factory h u it wants to use the front doors for base and mids? And dash and back for highs?

I think it depends on what you want and how much you want to spend. why not start by replacing the dash first and see if it is good enough for what you want. If not then you can move to the doors.

I really don't know the difference between the front and rear door speakers. I was messing around a little bit the other day with them and it seemed to me that they both put out the same amount of bass.

There is a difference between the uconnect 3.0 and 5.0 speaker ?

If not , honestly I would only change the dash speaker. The bass that came out from the rear door speaker is awesome, and the front speaker with the kicker did a wonderful job. The center are not so great but the rear oem and front kicker make the front door sound not bad at all.
