HELLO RAM FORUM!
Newbie to this community and forums! 1st.. I just purchased my RCSB tequila sunrise express.. I already added 22" satin black SRTs, red calipers, black headlights, satin black emblems and custom barracuda katskinz leather! LOVE the truck!! Traded up from a $60,000 ford limited! I should have bought a RAM a LOOOOONG time ago!! Anyways I have a problem.. I just bought a rbz p05064678ae radio from eBay, installed it and all I got was a BLANK blackish backlit screen! No sound no NADA! dimmer on backligt works! I was reading around that these radios are suppose to be plug and play? So do I have to take it to the dealer since the 2012s now have "anti-theft" as to where the BCM needs to recognize the radio and configure it and stuff? My ram is a 2012 express an the radio says its a 2009.. Help will be greatly appreciated! Also? Does anyone know where I can get a center console to do the mod? Can't find one ANYWHERE! Thank you guys!

Dealer needs to flash for it to work. Also, did you get one with the high-speed bus? Only one that works with our Rams. This also should have been posted in the Electronics subforum. Welcome.

Yup just tell them the model of the new unit and they will add the sales code to the trucks computer. Depending on the dealership they could charge up too a $100 I've Seen people post. Depends on your relationship with the dealer.

If they are going to do all that.. Can I also ask them to add the backup camera feature sense they are already configurating all that tech stuff?

The backup cam is not present and needs to be added. Not likely you can activate it with a flash. I couldn't on my RBH and had to buy a Lockpick to do so. Search for Lockpick on here for more info.

I thought the radios themselves were plug-n-play? I know you need to flash addons like uconnect or cameras if they weren't there before, but the radio?

Yes, the radios have to be flashed because A) it cuts down on theft, and B) they add features not originally on the vehicle that tie into other features (like the EVIC display, for one).

I'm at the dealership as we speak! Hopefully it DOES work and tech knows what he is doing! I told the dealership strait up that I upgraded the radio and did the install myself. Service advisor told it be about 108 n change with taxes. FINGERS CROSSED!:hail::hail:

Bad news. Radio didn't work! I'm guessing it's a faulty/bad radio! So then if I purchase another one it SHOULD be a PLUG and PLAY?
