maybe its cause you have to much air going in and not enough fuel going through the lines? ever since i got the vararam its happened to me a couple times, only at WOT. and i dont have a tuner.

Air to fuel ratio for me has been fixed at wot. Stays exactly the same the whole time.

Stock springs? Don't go over 6100 on the WOT throttle shifts. And give the rev limiter a few hundred rpm difference. When I ran the ssc3815 I had the WOT 1-2 shift @ 6100rpm and 2-3 @ 6050 with the rev limiter at 6300. Don't go any higher than that. Also bump the speed limiter up

Nope not running lean, more air, more fuel compensation by the computer, they even say in their instructions that in stock or mildly nodded vehicles it will cause you to run rich until the computer learns the new air flow, then it will even out. So if anything you are running a hair to rich

Thanks for all the info guys. I will change up the shift points, rev limiter and speed limiter and see if this helps. Hubby has the truck right now, so I'll have to try to do this later. :)

Agree with Ryan its playing rush and rulett with stock springs over 6k. Stock shifts are at 5700 and the stock cam dips out on power before that also, just has better shift recovery when you shift at higher RPMs. From what your descibing sounds like the truck is just taking longer then expected to down shift. Sounds like your hitting second prime.

Havent heard much issues with the 08 springs so you might still be ok the earlier springs were the issues. Raising the limiter will help WOT but doubt its gonna change part throttle alot if any. When your getting on the interstate are you matting it the whole way?

Take a glance at where your rpms are starting at and count how long its taking for the either down shift or up to speed.

ok, I will check that. That's one thing I haven't paid attention to. I've just heard it cut out and felt it.

Prob running fat and taking a few to shift. These trucks arent cable TBs so some trucks show more of a delay on throttle input and act weird, others are just as touchy as a cable drive.

That makes sense cuz it also likes to take a while to downshift with just normal getting up to speed on the highway.

Another thing you can try is to hit the tow/haul button a couple seconds before you romp on it. Should cause it to shift out of 2nd prime and OD gears and allow you to hit it hard without much of a lag. Just be sure it engages before you go WOT and the disengage it when you are back to normal driving.
