I’m installing an aftermarket backup camera that only has 1 power wire on it located at the front with the RCA cable. I’m looking for the reverse light wire to tap into inside the cab any suggestions???

I just installed one on my 2010 with an aftermarket radio. I plugged the yellow AUX into the designated spot, then wired the power wire to reverse 12v+ in harness and the other wire outside into the tail light hot wire. That was the only way I could get it to flip on when I put the truck in reverse. Not sure how the wiring scheme on yours is. What brand?

Kenwood. I’ve got it wired up now but I’m getting a weird fault now. The camera works fine and switches over when in reverse with the truck not running with keys in the ACC position. When I start the truck and shift it to reverse sometimes the camera comes on and sometimes it doesn’t

Hmmm that’s strange. I know mine if I physically click the “camera” button on the unit, it will not change to the camera. It says no devices found. These things are finicky I suppose

For the little I know I would start with the basic's ! Check the ground connection ! A poor ground can cause many issues, and be sure all connections are tight ! That's all I have seen posted on camera issues that I remember !
Please Update what you do find

I just left it because honestly what do I need the camera for when I’m driving? I’ll be doing some other stuff this weekend so I may take a quick look at everything but I’m assuming it’s a setting I gotta change. Because the manual for my head unit even demonstrates how to change to it while driving. Sorry for high jacking the thread kinda [emoji23]
