OK so I know there are several threads on here regarding putting a RHR into a truck that didn't come with it but my question is besides requiring a high speed one, is there a difference between RHR radios in different vehicle models ? Some say they are for Grand Cherokee's and Durango's some say liberty, wrangler, minivans, nitro, ram. There are several different part numbers but will they all work?? even if they are only listed for other models

Yes, you need to match it up with the car/trucks canbus protocol. For instance the ram has a hi-speeed canbus so you will need a hi-speed mygig. If the seller tells you its hi-speed always verify by getting the part# its easy enough to verify on line these days.

That part I understand but what I'm not sure about is a grand cherokee and durango radio possibly being totally different. Even on OEM autoparts site if you enter a Durango they don't list a radio available for it

As long as the RHR/730N you get is a hi-speed CANBUS radio youll be fine. Just make sure the mounts are on the sides of the radio and not the top/bottom otherwise it will not fit a Ram. Also when you buy a radio be sure that it comes with the anti-theft code to unlock it!! I just finished up installing an RHR in my 09 Ram with iPod cable, UConnect mic and OEM Sirius/GPS antenna. Didnt have to flash a thing and works flawlessly.
