Just a general discussion topic, are rock chips for the most part avoidable or not? I bought my truck used, but it came from an older gentleman and it was in about perfect condition. Depending on when the sun is shining, there are a few rock chips on the sides of the vehicle. I would guess 5 or 6. I don't understand why I keep finding them. I have a bug guard, mud flaps, and I try not to follow too closely behind anyone and I'm a pretty cautious, slow driver. I wash it weekly and I'm a stickler for keeping my vehicle in like new condition. Is there anything anyone has found, other than using touch up paint, to help fix or avoid getting rock chips or is this just something that's a part of owning a daily driver?

It seems like you've take a few steps to minimize your chances of getting them. Like most things ****** in life they're bound to happen.

I have used the 3M Clear Bra material and covered the front of vehicles. My 2006 SRT8 has been covered with it since new and has no chips in the front paint.
