Looking into getting a rolling bed cover. I would like to hear from owners of such about what brand they like as far as durability, functionality and weather resistance (leaking).

I saw recently a few memebers discussing the Lowmax/Weathertech brands. The Weathertech seems to be the more cost friendly.

Thanks for your input.

Well Mr. W_Lyles, I'm pretty new here, and very new to Ram 1500's. I bought my 2016 Ram 1500 on Black Friday. The first thing I did was install a TruXedo TruXport roll up. I settled on that because my friend had one on his 2013 Ram, and installed one on his new 2018. He recommended it for ease of install and he told me no leaks or problems rolling it up when whole bed is needed for chores.

So far I have no leaks, no problems and no complaints. Looks good and was $271.65 from Amazon.

First off welcome to the Ram Family and to the forum! This is a very useful place with a lot of helpful individuals.

That's a very competitive price considering the Weathertech I was looking at is $499 on their website. Glad to hear that you like yours so far and have no complaints. I will definitely check that one out.

Put on Truxedo PRO X15. Has low rail height I needed for bed rail clearance to 5er.
Super easy install.
Leaks some water at front left & right and tailgate.

I use a Bak Revolver X2. It doesn't leak except in rare circumstances of driven water (such as a touchless carwash).

Very durable (I am 300 lbs and can lay on it, my kids play on it often).

Very very secure as it is similar to a rolling bay door for a garage, with marine vinyl covering it. The locking bar design is superior to all other brands I have found, as it locks the entire side of the cover down to prevent prying it up from the middle sides.

Attaches/detaches as fast as you can remove a few nuts. Weight is negligible once installed.

Common sense isn't...nor is common decency.

Texas weather melted my Revolver X2's adhesive and wasted the vinyl even with 303 protectant.

That blows! I can't comment much on that as I live in the suicide capital of the U.S. due to vitamin D deficiency....we don't get much sun here.

Even Alaska gets more average sunny days......

I had a Roll n Lock I believe it was called on my 95 2500. At the time it was on the only cover like that on the market. It looked very nice, but some of the down sides were that ate a lot of room up in the front of the bed. In the winter water or snow would freeze in the slats preventing from opening it. I would also have to take the top cover off about twice a year and clean out debris that had collected in the box itself. Don't know anything about the current models, but had to mount a piece on the tailgate for the locking mechanism. The do look nice, and provide very good security, but they are not cheap either... On my 4th gen, I have the Truxedo cover, and happy with that.

Anyone tried or heard reviews on the Gator SRX roll up? Just found that one for $249 and free shipping.

Everything I've read on it has been positive and its a fraction of the cost of others similar. That always makes me cautious haha.
