Yes, it definitely makes the truck roll and sway more. It’s not terrible - but there are definitely some sections of highway I can’t bomb down at 80mph+ anymore. But your stiffer springs and bars should certainly help.

I found that my mileage actually improved just a touch with the RTT compared to just an open bed.

Nice rig. Looking forward to getting my kids outdoors more. Pisses me off to take our 30 ft travel trailer out just to watch the kids sit inside watching tv.

    Which awning do you have?

I was just looking at that one. It’s probably at the top of my list due to the price tag

It’s pretty sturdy, even in moderate winds (maybe 10-15 mph steady with a few gusts) without the poles and guys.

I think I’ll just pitch a tent the 1-2 times every 3 yrs it’s below 90 degrees here in the south and We go camping, rest of the time I’ll tow the trailer with the comforts!! Lol!

I’ve considered this option as well. There’s just something very cool about a RTT

I have an ARB Simpson III atop our Jeep. Had it up there about four years now. No "top heavy" feeling driving, even dissconnected. It does create a bit more drag on my Jeep, with it's already poor aerodynamics but then that isn't why I bought it.

If you're thinking of installing a RTT I recommend mounting it high enough to make use of an annex underneath.
