Rotary Shifter

So. I have a 2014 ram bighorn with the 8spd. And maybe once a month when is shift to reverse, it will blink and say to put in park. If I dont shift back to drive it just shuts off. Wondering if anybody has had this situation and if changing the shifter will fix the problem.

You have to step on the brake when changing gears. Also, mine sometimes goes into neutral if I don't come to a complete stop before shifting.

Okay. Still acting up Starting to think it is the shifter. Anybody know if there is a chip in the knob assembly that may be losing connection with the pcm?
